If you are looking for a local Mardi Gras event for next year stop in at the Bolivar Peninsula RV Park for a fun time. The park is just off the shoulder of Hwy 124 smack in the center of the parade route. Owner George Vratis and his staff host an annual "Parade Party" for guests of the campground during that weekend.

Thanks George for a great spot to park and enjoy our mild winters.

Our friends Ron and Peg introduced us to their friends last year and I took a photo of them. As the weekend passed, I noticed the girls riding the golf cart and remembered this photo from 2007 and thought an updated picture may be fun to add to the site. However I was trying to recall the photo from memory and kind of missed one of the subjects in the photoand I think the only one that I got in the same order was the little one in the middle....and I made them move before I shot the picture....."Don't get old".......DUH!....Sorry

It was a cool winter day on the beach..temps in the upper 50's and low 60's and clear skies but a chilly wind all day.

Great weather for a Mardi Gras Parade in Texas
