MARIA'S GARLIC BEANS WITH ALMONDS
1 ½ bag of frozen green beans, ( I like the long thin ones), cook until slightly soften but crisp
1 T butter
3 T extra virgin olive oil
1 medium head garlic – peeled and diced.
1 small red pepper diced
1 T soy sauce or to taste
½ cup of slivered almonds
DIRECTIONS
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil; add garlic and red pepper and cook until garlic is lightly brown, stirring frequently. Add slightly cooked green beans and stir until beans are cooked. Add soy sauce according to taste. Remove from heat and place in casserole mixing in the slivered almonds, then sprinkle with parmesan cheese
